With similar looks to a regular guitar, a bass is in fact a modern version of a double bass. Since the 50’s the electric bass guitar has pretty much replaced the older double bass in current music. It’s important to remember when you learn bass guitar that it is still a part of the rhythm section.
The first bass produced bass guitar was by Leo Fender. Released in 1951 the “P-bass” was the birth of the fender bass guitar. The next step for many is to learn bass guitar scales. Scales will help to teach you how the notes relate to each other in a musical way. Knowing you bass scales will open up a whole range of options to you when it comes to playing and creating bass lines.
